Claudia Collections · Vintage Design Center

A wider circle of vintage design.

Vintage Design Center is closely connected to the Claudia Collections story. Our showroom stood at what is now the first VDC location in Zandhoven, and some of the ideas behind VDC came from Claudia. It is a shared history that continues in a wider circle of people, pieces and collections.

01

A shared place. A developing idea.

The Zandhoven showroom was a physical expression of our own selection. Its location is now part of a broader design setting through Vintage Design Center. That continuity matters to us: the connection grows from experience, relationships and ideas that have already been part of Claudia Collections.

Claudia’s antique-dealer connections were one of our starting points. Her ideas remain part of our work and helped shape parts of VDC. The two stories meet through those relationships and through a shared interest in bringing design and people together.

02

A place for different collections

One collection can express a very personal eye. Bringing different collections into the same setting opens up other connections: between styles, between familiar and unexpected pieces, and between the people who know them.

Each participating dealer brings their own selection, experience and knowledge. That individuality is part of what makes a shared design setting interesting. An object can be understood in its own right and also seen in the company of other pieces.

What interests us is that exchange: room for different points of view, useful information about the pieces and a welcoming way for visitors to look more closely.

What ten years of looking have taught us

Claudia Collections started by recognising vintage pieces within an established antiques network. Trade shows and the showroom added experience in selecting and presenting those pieces, and in seeing how a collection changes when objects are brought together.

We have always been interested in the detail of an individual object: its proportions, materials and the reason it holds your attention. The setting matters too. Furniture, lighting and objects can reveal something different when they are seen alongside one another.

That way of looking is part of our connection with VDC. It grows from the same curiosity that first brought Claudia’s network and Gion’s eye together.

04

A small collection of our own

Claudia Collections’ own selection remains deliberately small and highly curated. It is the place for pieces we choose ourselves and for the point of view that first brought Claudia and Gion’s worlds together.

Our own collection and the wider VDC setting can sit comfortably alongside each other. One keeps its personal scale; the other opens the conversation to more people and more collections.
